Private Equity Senior Associate Olivia Coffey Represents Team USA in Women’s Eight at Tokyo Olympics
Private equity staffer Olivia Coffey is not your average senior associate at One Equity Partners. In addition to her demanding career in the alternative asset management industry, Coffey is also a fierce competitor on the water, representing Team USA in the women’s eight at the upcoming Summer Olympics.
Coffey, who boasts an impressive personal best time of 6 minutes and 36 seconds on an ergometer, has been balancing her professional responsibilities with her athletic pursuits for years. After missing out on the London 2012 Olympics and serving as a spare in Rio 2016, Coffey decided to pursue her MBA while continuing to train for the Olympics. Her hard work paid off when she secured a spot on the women’s eight team, which placed fourth at the Covid-postponed Tokyo Olympics.
Despite her rigorous training schedule, Coffey manages to juggle her responsibilities at One Equity Partners with her rowing commitments. With the firm’s flexibility and support, Coffey is able to work around her training schedule, logging an average of 20 hours per week in the lead-up to the Olympics.
Coffey’s dedication to both her career and her sport has not gone unnoticed by her colleagues at One Equity Partners. Several of her co-workers, including partner Jamie Koven and senior adviser Fritz Hobbs, have also competed at the Olympics in the past, creating a supportive and understanding work environment for Coffey.
As she prepares to represent Team USA in Paris, Coffey is grateful for the support of her family, including her husband Michael Blomquist, who has made special “Go Liv!” tops for her cheer squad. With her drive and determination, Coffey is sure to make her mark on the water and in the world of private equity.
