TFI International CEO Alain Bédard Plans Accelerated Acquisition Strategy for 2025
TFI International, a Montreal-based transportation company, is gearing up for a series of major acquisitions in the truckload and less-than-truckload sectors in 2025. CEO Alain Bédard announced this ambitious plan during the company’s second-quarter earnings call, indicating that significant deals are on the horizon.
The company, currently ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in North America, is looking to expand its truckload division before a planned spinoff. Bédard emphasized the need for growth in both the truckload and LTL units, with a focus on increasing market share in the U.S.
TFI’s recent acquisition spree includes the purchase of flatbed specialist Daseke Inc. in 2023, as well as several truckload carriers and LTL companies in 2024. The company’s free cash flow of $151.4 million in the second quarter and $1.05 billion in the last 12 months demonstrates its financial strength and ability to fund further expansion.
With a growing fleet size and a strategic focus on operational efficiency, TFI International is poised for continued growth and success in the transportation industry. Stay tuned for more updates on the company’s acquisition strategy and future developments.
