Goldman Sachs Appoints New Partners in M&A Leadership

Goldman Sachs, a leading global investment banking firm, has recently welcomed Haidee Lee and Carsten Woehrn as partners and global co-heads of sponsor M&A. Lee and Woehrn will also serve as co-head of M&A in EMEA, bringing their extensive experience and expertise to the firm.

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Lee and Woehrn held key positions at JP Morgan, where they led the M&A franchise for the Strategic Investor Group. Lee, based in New York, will work alongside David Kamo as the global co-head of Sponsor M&A, focusing on private equity clients and privately held companies across various industries.

Woehrn, based in London, will work with Nimesh Khiroya as co-head of M&A in EMEA, with a focus on expanding and enhancing the European franchise. With over ten years of experience in M&A, Woehrn has a strong background in infrastructure deals in Europe and North America.

In addition to these new appointments, Goldman Sachs recently led a $36 million Series C funding round for Canoe Intelligence, a company specializing in AI and machine learning technology for investors. This investment will support Canoe’s continued development of automated infrastructure to improve data accuracy, team efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Overall, these strategic moves by Goldman Sachs demonstrate the firm’s commitment to strengthening its M&A capabilities and investing in innovative technologies to drive growth and success in the competitive financial industry.
